What is the difference between an email flow and a campaign?
A flow is an automated sequence triggered by customer behaviour, such as signing up or abandoning a cart. A campaign is a one-off email sent to a chosen group on a chosen date.
Flows keep earning between campaigns, so they are usually built first. Campaigns handle launches, sales and content.
Use both, and use segmentation so the same person is not hit by a flow and a campaign at once.
In practice.
A new customer signs up and receives the welcome flow automatically. A week later the store sends a campaign about a new range, but the customer is held out until the flow finishes, so they do not get both at once.
