Klaviyo and Wix.
Wix stores can connect to Klaviyo so customer, cart and order activity is available for email flows. The connection is set up from the Wix side or from Klaviyo, and what syncs can differ by Wix product and version, so confirm the current details in the Wix and Klaviyo documentation. Once data arrives, you build abandoned cart, welcome and post purchase flows on top of it.
What Wix sends to Klaviyo.
- Customer and contact data. Names, emails and sign ups collected through the site, used to build profiles and lists.
- Cart and checkout activity. Where the connection supports it, carts and checkouts that were started but not finished, which power recovery flows.
- Order activity. Placed orders and the products in them, so you can segment by purchase and trigger post purchase messages.
- Form submissions. Sign ups from site forms or pop ups, which depend on how you connect them to a Klaviyo list.
- Product details. Catalogue information for emails, which varies by how the store and connection are configured.
Flows it enables.
Welcome series
Starts when someone joins a list from the site. Introduce the brand, set expectations and point to best sellers.
Abandoned cart
Reaches shoppers who began checkout and left. It only works if the connection reports cart activity, so test it before relying on it.
Post purchase
Starts from an order and covers thanks, care advice and a later review request.
Winback
Uses time since the last order to bring lapsed customers back with a real reason to return.
Setup order.
1. Check what your Wix setup supports
Read the current Wix and Klaviyo documentation to see which data your store type can send and how the connection is made.
2. Connect the accounts
Follow the documented route to link the store to your Klaviyo account and authorise it.
3. Confirm data arrives
Place a test order and sign up with a test address, then check the profile in Klaviyo for the activity.
4. Check tracking on the live site
Make sure any required tracking is active on the published site, not only in the editor.
5. Map consent properly
Decide how site forms and checkout consent map to Klaviyo subscription status.
6. Build and test one flow
Create the welcome flow first, then the abandoned cart flow once cart activity is confirmed.
Common pitfalls.
- Assuming every event exists without testing a real order and cart.
- Connecting before the domain and live site are final, then losing tracking after a change.
- Sign up forms that add people to a list without recording consent.
- Running a second app that also sends cart reminders.
- Judging flow results before the data has been verified.
Apps and Klaviyo both change their screens and options over time, so confirm names against what you see and check each app's own documentation for current details.
