How to fix missing product images and broken feeds in Klaviyo emails

Missing product images in Klaviyo emails come from a stalled catalog sync, product records without images, blocked image hosting or a block that has no fallback. Check the sync, then the product data, then the template.

Have this ready.

Steps.

  1. 1. Identify the pattern

Work out whether every image is missing, only products in a block, or only certain products. This tells you whether the cause is the template, the feed or the product itself.

  2. 2. Check the catalog sync

Open your integration and check that the product catalog is syncing. If it is stalled or disconnected, reconnect it and wait for products to refresh.

  3. 3. Inspect the product record

Open the missing product in your store admin and confirm it has a main image, is published and is active. Products without images will show blank.

  4. 4. Check the image itself

Make sure the image address opens in a browser and is a standard web format. Very large files or images behind a login will fail to load in inboxes.

  5. 5. Review the dynamic block

Open the email and check the product block settings, such as which items it pulls and how many. A rule that matches nothing will leave a gap.

  6. 6. Add fallback content

Set fallback content or a static backup block so the email still looks complete if the dynamic part cannot load.

  7. 7. Preview and test send

Send tests to real inboxes and view them in light and dark mode. Some clients block images by default, so add clear alt text.
