How to add dynamic product blocks to Klaviyo emails

Dynamic product blocks pull product details into an email automatically instead of you pasting them by hand. In Klaviyo, drag a product block into the template, choose a source such as the abandoned cart items, viewed items or recommendations, and test the layout with different data.

Have this ready.

Steps.

  1. 1. Confirm the catalog is synced

Check that products in Klaviyo show correct names, images, prices and links. Dynamic blocks can only be as good as the data feeding them.

  2. 2. Open the email in the editor

Edit the email in a flow or campaign and drag the dynamic product block into the layout where you want products to appear.

  3. 3. Choose the data source

Pick what the block displays: items from the triggering event such as a cart, recently viewed items, or recommendations. Match the source to the email purpose.

  4. 4. Set the item count and layout

Choose how many products to show and in what arrangement. Fewer, larger items usually read better on a phone than a crowded grid.

  5. 5. Style the elements

Adjust the title, image, price and button styling to match your brand. Make the button label specific, such as view item.

  6. 6. Add a fallback

Decide what shows if the data is missing, such as best sellers. This stops recipients seeing an empty gap.

  7. 7. Preview with real profiles

Use the preview option with different test profiles, including one with a single item and one with many, then send yourself a test.

Common pitfalls.

Check it worked.

Klaviyo changes its interface from time to time, so treat the steps as the order of work and match the names to what you see on screen.
