How do I set up a browse abandonment flow?
Trigger it from a viewed-product event for identified visitors who did not add to cart or buy, wait a few hours, then send one or two emails showing the product they looked at. Keep the tone helpful rather than pushy.
Browse abandonment needs the visitor to be identified, for example through a signup or earlier click. Check that your store integration tracks viewed-product events correctly before building.
Add filters so people who already bought, are in a cart flow or recently received this flow are excluded. This avoids overlapping messages.
Lead with the product and a reason to return, such as reviews or key benefits, and keep discounts for later if margins are tight.
In practice.
A furniture store sees that identified visitors often view a sofa without buying. A flow waits several hours, then sends an email with that sofa, fabric options and delivery information. Anyone who adds to cart moves into the cart flow instead.
