Klaviyo and Loop Subscriptions.
Loop Subscriptions, built for Shopify, can send subscription activity into Klaviyo so you can run onboarding, reminder, skip and cancellation flows. Use the synced data to treat subscribers differently from one off buyers. Keep required order and billing notices in Loop, and use Klaviyo for guidance and retention around them.
What Loop Subscriptions sends to Klaviyo.
- Subscription started. A shopper has joined a subscription plan, which sets them apart from one time customers.
- Order upcoming. Activity before the next shipment, ideal for a reminder with edit and skip links.
- Subscription modified. Swaps, quantity or frequency changes, hinting at how satisfied the subscriber is.
- Subscription paused or cancelled. Status changes that begin a save or winback path.
Flows it enables.

Setup order.
1. Find the Klaviyo connection
In Loop open the integrations or settings area and choose Klaviyo, then authorise with your account.
2. Review the data sent
Confirm which subscription activity is passed on, noting any naming differences from the Shopify order events.
3. Run a test subscription
Buy a plan with a test email and check that activity shows up in Klaviyo against that profile.
4. Plan the message split
Decide which emails remain in Loop, such as billing and shipping, and which are Klaviyo flows.
5. Create subscriber segments
Segment active, paused and cancelled customers to keep campaigns relevant.
6. Exclude subscribers from clashing flows
Add filters so active subscribers are kept out of replenishment and abandoned cart messages for the same product.
Common pitfalls.
- A replenishment flow nudging someone who already subscribes.
- Duplicated reminder emails from Loop and Klaviyo.
- Marketing wording in what should be a clear account notice.
- Forgetting to test after changing plan or product structure.
- Reporting subscription revenue and one off revenue as a single figure.
Apps and Klaviyo both change their screens and options over time, so confirm names against what you see and check each app's own documentation for current details.
