Klaviyo vs Flodesk.

Flodesk is loved for beautiful, easy-to-design emails, which suits brands built on look and feel. Klaviyo is stronger where behaviour and store data drive the sends. If design polish is your priority and your needs are simple, Flodesk can delight; for data-led retention, Klaviyo usually fits better.

Klaviyo suits you if.

Flodesk suits you if.

Our view.

A great email is both well designed and well targeted. Flodesk leans into the first, Klaviyo into the second, though Klaviyo can also produce attractive, on-brand emails with some design effort. The question is which gap hurts you more today.

Disclosure: Inferno Emails builds in Klaviyo, and design is part of what we do there. If your emails are mostly stories and announcements, Flodesk may be a joy to use. Check its current ecommerce capabilities before assuming either way.

Moving from Flodesk to Klaviyo.

  1. Export subscribers from Flodesk with their segment memberships and signup dates, and note anyone who unsubscribed.
  2. Connect your store to Klaviyo so product and order data is available for design blocks.
  3. Import contacts and turn the most useful Flodesk segments into Klaviyo lists or segments.
  4. Recreate your favourite layouts as Klaviyo templates, saving reusable blocks for fonts, colours and footers.
  5. Rebuild automations, test the rendering in major inboxes and switch your signup forms over.

Plans, features and limits change often. Check each vendor's current documentation before you decide.
